About Roland Wilhelm

Roland Wilhelm

Born in Switzerland and raised in New England, my love of photography began at an early age. By the time I was 14, I built a small darkroom in my basement and learned how to develop and print black and white photographs. It was magical to watch the images appear under the dim glow of the orange safe light. I became the photo editor of my high school's newspaper, art magazine and year book. I went on to study photography and received my fine arts degree at the Rochester Institute of Photography, and then promptly moved to Southern California after a few cold winters in Rochester! Pasadena has been home now for over 30 years. I hope you enjoy my work and would love your feedback and comments!
